Det Glade Vanvidd was the Norwegian sort of The Residents-like band, and was from the city of Trondheim. Later in 1987 they did appear with the song, Ut av byen on “Tsjernobilly Boogie”LP, also to find here. This release contains 10 various songs in a weird and amatouric manner, and my favorites are Lov Song I, Svadakill, Lov Song III and Ut av byen.

They are quoting Fridell:” Only the amateurs are standing in a true relation towards their object”, by that I understand they recall the ethos of ’77 punk as the Sex Pistols seem to have. And Det Glade Vanvidd live by that. A review in the zine Knall (5/85) said:”Det Glade Vanvidd knows its limits, and don’t care about it. It has to be said that it’s too much to release three cassettes simultaneously and one cassette contains ten tracks with 5 minutes each. The result is enormous, of course. “Meat…” is a particularly varied cassette, besides the basic instruments: bass, guitar and drums, it’s all spiced with a number of other instruments managed in an unorthodox manner, harmonicas, accordions, some cassette sounds and somewhat characteristic vocals. Songs such as “Roter wedding”, “Lovsong I”, “Lovsong III”, and “Ut av byen” are ultimate hits, very well done containing both humour and intensity. “Salme” and “Lovsong II” strongly follow, while the livefeeling in the studiosongs “Born to be wild” and “Svadakill” has to be added a little more power, and besides the songs are loosing the battle between clever ideas and effects. “Dansen på skratteskjær” shows the humour in the band to the full extend, while “Yallesong” is a good example not to be noticed after 10 minutes later the idea of the song did appear. The lack of skills on some instruments from the band are compensated by their humour, ideas, and gusto. “Meat” is a pearle in a monotonous Norwegian round of everyday life in the music industry, also a compressed version of “Ut av byen” the lyric that the band has drawn some conclusion from, could be the greatest hit in a new Norwegian music history. And in the end, very fue band are living up to their bandnames as Det Glade Vanvidd (The Happy Madness).” (Viggo) The cassette was released by Knall Syndikatet (same as Knall Tapes). And it's great too. Det Glade Vanvidd released a CD in 2006, called "The Rest of the Best of Det Glade Vanvidd".
