The cassette contains 16 tracks, and this was the last release of ANGOR WAT; something ironicially called "Rest In Pieces". Firstly the band inspired lyrically and politically by Crass, but later musically took inspiration from metal bands like Judas Priest. Lyrically the band were very politically; anti-Amerika, vegetarism, rasism, consumerism and so on, and the writened stuff are very varied. At it's best can be seen in lyrics like Hjemland, Den maskerte mannen, or Luxury. Not only anti-something, but also suggest a solutions. Musically it sounds like crossing punk and metal. They got all the energy from punk, but are far more better to play than the average punkbands. And they sounds more heavy and easy tempoed, like metal bands. The band seems more energic live than their studio recordings on this cassette.
My personal favorites are the tracks; Straff, Black & white, Hjemland, King of greed, Den maskerte mannen, Amerik-k-ka and Luxury. The songs are from different recordings, two live from Oslo in 1987, and the songs Hjemland and Amerik-k-ka from 1986, and the rest of the songs in 1987. Four of these songs did appear on other releases, Hjemland on the "Tsjernobilly Boogie LP", Amerika on the "Partyterror volume 1", and Black & white and Den maskerte mannen on the KZ "Lov og orden". The song, Luxury did appear on the band's only record "General strike" in a studio version. The band presents the reader with some facts:"The Knallsyndicate is run by Angor Wat. We release records, tapes etc, distribute any music or written words through Ivar Matlaus Bokcafe and could be helpful in setting up gigs in Norway." For many years the same people were involved with the fanzine, KNALL.
This cassette was the last release of Knallsyndikatet, later renamed Progress Records in Trondheim, and later the band renamed to Israelvis, and got lots of interest abroad...
